Program

The 27th International Festival of Contemporary Music «Contrasts», which is one of the three leading music festivals in Ukraine, chose «post-modern / past-modern» as its main theme. Discussing the topos of the present and the past heritage, the closing concert will present works by artists of the XX century — Pierre Wissmer, Witold Lutoslawski (in the orchestral version of Jerzy Kornowicz), as well as leading modern Ukrainian authors — in particular, Oleksandr Shchetynsky. The work of the winner of the Ukrainian Сomposer Сompetition named after Myroslav Skoryk will be performed too. According to its name, the festival with almost thirty years’ history brought together topical and universal music in a celebratory environment together with the creators of the new era.
