Taras Shevchenko National Prize winner Bohdan-Yurii Yanivskyi (4.07.1941 – 17.06.2005) devoted his entire life to the development of musical art in Lviv and Ukraine. An unsurpassed melodist, songwriter, and theater composer, he made a tremendous contribution to the development of Ukrainian musical art.

His creative work includes orchestral and chamber instrumental works, music for dramatic performances, animated and television films, and numerous romantic songs. He continued the pop traditions established by Bohdan Vesolovskyi, Anatolii Kos-Anatolskyi and other composers of this genre.

We invite you to hear known and unknown to the general public songs by Yanivsky with lyrics by Bohdan Stelmakh, Lina Kostenko, Petro Shkrabiuk, Mykola Ilnytsky, Markiyan Shashkevych…
