The digital audio album “54 Minutes to Christmas” by Ukrainian-Swiss composer, pianist, and organist Anastasiya Lozova is dedicated to the Christmas celebrations in Ukraine, which will be held on December 24 for the first time, together with the rest of the Christian world. All ten compositions included in the album are the author’s creative arrangements, interpretations, and improvisations on the themes of Ukrainian Christmas carols (‘koliadky’ and ‘shchedrivky’).
The album also features several European Christmas melodies. In each track, you can hear some melodies interwoven into continuous musical texture and organically flow into each other, creating the feeling of a separate microcosm with limitless emotional and spiritual content. That is why the author decided not to call each track by its title, but instead used the title “Composition” with a different sequential numbering.
As Anastasiya Lozova comments on her new album:
“‘54 Minutes to Christmas’ is a personal space for each of us, where we can feel the mystery’s birth of a new light of hope in our hearts. This is when the soul catches the invisible traces of a miracle and gets filled with Compassion and Love…
It is a night of mysterious healing, when one suddenly realizes that every moment is unique, that we are all pilgrims, heading for the light of the Star, sharing the various colors of emotions of our life paths.”
