On the threshold of the third winter that Ukraine is facing in the fight against the aggressor, it is especially important to take care of the future — children, their dreams and talents. This is exactly what the Lviv National Philharmonic is being helped by Sweden and its partners — the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, who supported the activities of the Philharmonic during the winter by transferring 75,000 SEK, which will be used to provide heat and light to the Philharmonic premises during the winter!
After all, the Philharmonic is not only a home for classical music, but also a space for development for hundreds of Ukrainian children who, together with their families, attend the Philharmonic’s family events, or perform as part of the Lviv Children’s Orchestra (artistic director and conductor – Iryna Vakulina), whose next concert took place on December 7. Despite the hostile shelling, families gather in the Philharmonic hall every month to spend time together with music.
The Philharmonic sincerely thanks you for your support and solidarity. At a time when everyone especially needs a sense of family comfort, Christmas miracle and warmth, we are happy to be able to give it to our listeners!
