August 31, the last day of summer for the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic, was marked by the performance “To the Last Day of Summer-2022” as part of the concert series “Ukraine-2022. Muses Are Not Silent.” Ukrainian musicians, violinist Orest Smovzh and pianist Maksym Shadko performed on stage a program of music of the 20th-21st centuries.

Earlier in the pre-concert video, the performers invited the listeners to a unique event with works by Satie, Britten, Mozart, Beethoven, Cage, Vyshynskyi and Hirvela. The program of the event was formed a long time ago, at the beginning of summer.
The pianist Maksym Shadko in the commentary for TV “Еспресо.Захід” said, “When you’re under constant stress, when you don’t have the passion or energy to do anything at all, it’s very difficult, especially for artistic people.” Therefore, events with the opportunity to perform become even more important for artists:
And the concert itself did not leave uninterested either the listeners in the hall or online.
This is how the yesterday’s atmosphere looked like in the photos of Danylo Bedriy:

“Ukraine–2022. Muses Are Not Silent” is a concert series in support of Ukrainian musicians during the russian armed aggression. Online concerts will become a platform for the uniting of the Ukrainian music community, as many musicians participating in these concert programs have become internally displaced people and have found shelter in Lviv.
We provide a free opportunity for the whole world to watch concerts on the official YouTube channel of the Lviv National Philharmonic. At the same time, we suggest our listeners from abroad make charitable donations to Ukrainian musicians who have stayed here in Ukraine.
