Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra gave a premiere in one of the largest concert halls in New York – the legendary Radio City Music Hall. There were four musical performances of Howard Shore’s masterpiece “Lord of the Rings” were played.
Every day on February 6, 7, 8, and 9, about six thousand viewers came to immerse themselves in the world of the beloved movie saga and hear the live performance of the music of the first part of “Lord of the Rings”, which is considered one of the most difficult and complete works in the field of cinema music.
The soundtrack for the film was performed by our symphony orchestra in tandem with a mixed children’s and adult choir and soprano Kaitlyn Lusk. The conductor of the large-scale event, consisting of about 240 people, was the Swiss Ludwig Wicki. The maestro is the founder of the “21st Century Symphony Orchestra” and collaborates with famous film composers: Howard Shore, Randy Newman, Martin Böttcher, George Fenton and Michael Giacchino.
As a reminder. Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra is currently on a significant tour in the United States of America, which began on January 13 and will continue until March 4. The most expected event of the trip is the performance of the orchestra under the baton of the chief conductor Theodore Kuchar in New York’s Carnegie Hall.
