On February 25, the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra performed at the Warsaw Philharmonic as part of a Polish-Ukrainian solidarity program dedicated to the second anniversary of the war with Russia.
According to Volodymyr Syvokhip, General Director of the Lviv National Philharmonic, “This performance has many signs, symbols, and connotations. Today, in the heart of Warsaw, we are performing the music that is our heart: the music of Vasyl Barvinsky, Mykola Kolessa, Borys Liatoshynsky, Mykola Leontovych, and Myroslav Skoryk. Now, in the time of war, we have realized what our heart is and what we want to be – to win and live on with our music and culture. With this concert in Poland, we are not only perpetuating the memory of Ukrainian heroes: in this way, we are declaring our essence and thanking everyone who is helping us in these extremely difficult times.”
The concert was attended by representatives of the Minister of Defense of Poland and the Parliament of the Republic. The officials emphasized the importance of helping Ukraine.
