The 75th anniversary of one of its most famous students, Volodymyr Ivasyuk, is very much intertwined with the 180th anniversary of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy in a very reverent and symbolic way. He was a brilliant composer, poet and singer who made Ukrainian pop songs popular and known all over the world. His compositions have become a symbol of dedication and independence, love for the Motherland, native language and culture.
