Famous soloists and ensembles of the Lviv National Philharmonic will present a wonderful journey into the world of songs by composer Serhii Petrosian.
A concert in his memory will be held on March 26. An Armenian by origin, he lived and worked from a young age in the city he loved the most. The maestro was inspired by Lviv, its history, identity, melos of urban romance, and flavor of Batyar songs. The composer was fond of Ukrainian folklore, naturally connecting it to his song miniatures. Petrosian collaborated with such masters of the word as Anna Kanych, Mykhailo Petrenko, and Rostyslav Bratun. The composer’s songs were performed by famous artists of Ukraine Ivan Matsialko, Ihor Kushpler, Inesa Bratuschyk; New York City Opera soloist Oksana Krovytska; singers Iryna Dolia, Nazar Savko, Bohdan Kosopud. Among the creative work of the composer, which is presented only partially in nine published collections, there are many interesting songs for children.
