At that past, the rumours had it that the virtuoso skills of the Italian Antonio Vivaldi, he shocked his contemporaries with. So it would be a sin not to present this amazing ability of the respected composer at the festival of the same title – especially considering the fact that Vivaldi, a musician and a priest, was associated with Satan because of it!

A fantastically inventive magician of sound and a bold innovator of the era – in this concert, the figure of the “Venetian Wizard” will be reimagined by soloists and musicians of the Lviv Virtuosos led by Dmytro Lohvyn. They will perform rarely performed works that will not let contemporary music lovers stay indifferent – although even during the life of the extremely popular Vivaldi, it was difficult to take fans of his work by surprise.

Having composed about 600 concertos for orchestra and orchestra with various solo instruments, he became a trendsetter of genre, style and, of course, musical fashion not only in Italy. The most vivid and convincing demonstration of all the advantages of a wide variety of musical instruments was his idée fixe.

The highlight of the performance will be the concert “Night” – not a picture of the idyll of the Italian night, but a real mystical story with night ghosts, which perfectly reveals the most interesting timbral possibilities of the solo flute. In turn, another composition brings to life the sound of the mandolin, an ancient instrument that was especially common in the composer’s time. Finally, the combination of organ and violin, which was traditional in Vivaldi’s era, is an extraordinary event for our time, immersing us in the world of the era of humanism, intelligence and beauty!
