28 Contrasts International Festival of Contemporary Music: calendar of the events

This autumn, the “Contrasts” International Festival of Contemporary Music will once again be held in the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic. One of the oldest and largest Ukrainian forums of contemporary art will be presented from October 1 to 10. All events of the Festival will be broadcasted online.

Traditionally, “Contrasts” will combine in its program the newest samples of music of the 20th-21st centuries, presenting to the musical community of Ukraine and the world, in particular, the skill of performers who remained in Ukraine during the full-scale phase of the Russian invasion. After all, the festival will take place under the motto of the “Ukraine-2022. Muses Are Not Silent” Project, which the Philharmonic has been taking care of since March of this year. Its purpose is to support Ukrainian musicians and their concert activities in new circumstances. The concerts are a platform for the unification of the Ukrainian cultural environment.

“Ukraine–2022. Muses Are Not Silent” is a concert series in support of Ukrainian musicians during the russian armed aggression. Online concerts will become a platform for the uniting of the Ukrainian music community, as many musicians participating in these concert programs have become internally displaced people and have found shelter in Lviv.

We provide a free opportunity for the whole world to watch concerts on the official YouTube channel of the Lviv National Philharmonic. At the same time, we suggest our listeners from abroad make charitable donations to Ukrainian musicians who have stayed here in Ukraine.
